What are Fair Housing Laws?

Federal, state, and local Fair Housing laws have been implemented to protect classes of people who have historically been treated unfairly with regards to housing.

The federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, age, etc.
